A renowned steel wire drawing company has trusted SORSA to develop a demanding and revolutionary project within its sector of activity.

The application comprises both the automatic strapping of drawn annealed steel wire coils, as well as the feeding and dispensing of metal rings on top of the coil, which helps to facilitate subsequent handling and storage.

The relevant design includes an automatic steel strapping system, for which we will use our exceptional VS32-L head, with double spot TIG strap welding technology, widely recognized for its high reliability, performance, durability and extremely low operational and maintenance cost.

In addition, it also includes an innovative storage, dispensing and feeding system for metal rings based on a large vibrating tray to store rings in bulk, with an alignment hopper for better guiding of the rings themselves and an autonomous ABB ROBOT of reduced dimensions to place them inside the strapping arch so that the strap can pass inside.

Finally, the turnkey solution includes in the scope a series of special conveyors for coils, guided and reinforced, with rotation inside the strapping machine itself in order to perform the 4 vertical radial strapping operations on the coil.
